We are grateful to the efforts of the entire LGBTQ+ community, Governor Murphy, the legislature, health department and Office of the LTC Ombudsman in New Jersey for advocating for this transformative legislation for our LGBTQ+ older adults in long-term care in NJ," says Amy Simon President of LGBT Senior Housing and Care, an LGBTQ+ older adult training and resource company based in New Jersey. "We look forward to the day when this legislation is expanded to include hospital care, independent care, home care and adult day care agencies as well."

New Jersey is the third state in the nation, along with California and Massachusetts to have passed some form of LGBTQ+ older adult legislation.
