Transgender Day of Remembrance

🕯️Transgender Day of Remembrance (November 20) — a day dedicated to honoring the lives of transgender, non‑binary, and gender‑diverse individuals lost to violence and anti‑trans hatred. glaad.org+2Michigan State University+2

In the past year alone, at least 36 trans people were killed due to bias‑related violence, and transgender individuals face over four times the violence risk of cisgender people. AP News This observance happens amid rising legislative attacks on trans rights, making remembrance and advocacy more urgent than ever.

At LGBT Senior Housing and Care, we honor our transgender elders—many of whom endured decades of invisibility, discrimination, and exclusion. We commit to building affirming housing and community spaces where trans elders are seen, supported, and celebrated for the lives

they’ve lived and the generations they’ve paved.

This day, we invite you to:

● Pause and remember those whose names we read but whose stories demand action.

● Amplify calls for stronger protections, inclusive care, and safe housing for transgender people of all ages.

● Connect across generations—listening to trans elders, learning from their resilience, and passing it forward to younger trans and gender‐diverse people.

Let us remember with purpose, live with compassion, and fight for a world where trans lives are safe, valued, and free. 🌈
