Transgender Awareness Month

ree

🌀 November marks Transgender Awareness Month, a time to celebrate the lives, contributions, and resilience of our transgender, non‑binary, and gender‑diverse communities while also shining a spotlight on the ongoing violence, discrimination, and erasure they face. fenwayhealth.org+2spectrumcenter.umich.edu+2

In 2025, the urgency has never felt greater. As anti‑trans legislation surges in many states and transgender youth face increasingly hostile environments, visibility alone is a form of protection—and affirmation. AP News+1

At LGBT Senior Housing and Care, we recognize that transgender older adults often live at the intersection of ageism, transphobia, healthcare neglect, and social isolation. That’s why our mission includes creating affirming housing and community where trans elders are seen, respected, and supported every day.

🌟 This Transgender Awareness Month, we invite you to: ‑ Share the stories of transgender elders—whose lives paved the way for progress and whose wisdom guides us still. ‑ Advocate for gender‑affirming care, inclusive housing policies, and safe environments for trans people of every age. ‑ Educate your networks: understanding is the first step toward meaningful change. ‑ Stand with trans and non‑binary folks not only in November, but throughout the year.

Together, we move from awareness to action—building a world where all gender‑diverse people can live with dignity, belonging, and purpose. 🌈
