HIV Is Not A Crime Awareness Day 2/28

Today is HIV Is Not a Crime Awareness Day! ✊🏾💙 Did you know that in many states, outdated and discriminatory laws still criminalize people living with HIV? These laws, often based on misinformation and stigma rather than science, punish individuals for simply existing—despite the fact that HIV is now considered a chronic disease, one that is manageable and with medication can be undetectable and non-transmissible. (U=U). HIV criminalization disproportionately affects marginalized communities, including Black, Brown, and LGBTQ+ individuals. It’s time to push for laws that reflect science, not stigma.

💡 Know the facts.📢 Advocate for change.⚖️ End HIV criminalization.
