🌟 September 23, 2025 marks Celebrate Bisexuality Day—also known as Bi Visibility Day or Bi Visibility Day—an annual moment to uplift and celebrate bisexual and bi+ identities, histories, and resilience across generations. Established formally in 1999, this observance was co-founded by Wendy Curry, Michael Page, and Gigi Raven Wilbur to address the erasure and invisibility often faced by bisexual individuals UNT Libraries+12Wikipedia+12Los Angeles LGBT Center+12.

Leading up to this day, Bisexual+ Awareness Week runs from September 16–23, convened by GLAAD, the Bisexual Resource Center, and Still Bisexual, aiming to accelerate acceptance,

highlight bi+ culture, and spotlight policy issues impacting the community Calendarr+4GLAAD+4lgbtq.wa.gov+4.

Despite comprising more than half of the LGBTQ+ population, bisexual and bi+ individuals face unique challenges—including erasure, stereotyping, and elevated mental health risks lgbtgreat.com+15Them+15GLAAD+15. Earlier this year, the Stonewall National Monument came under criticism for quietly removing references to bisexual people from its online content, a move that many interpreted as continued erasure of bi+ identities within LGBTQ+ history and spaces Them.

At LGBT Senior Housing and Care, we honor bi+ elders—those who have lived through eras where identity often needed to be hidden—and recognize their stories of resilience, resistance, and self-acceptance. Intergenerational bonds are especially powerful: when younger bi+ individuals see elders who lived bravely and proudly, it affirms that a fulfilling, visible life is possible.

This Celebrate Bisexuality Day, we invite you to:

● Amplify voices by sharing stories of bi+ elders in your life or community

● Counter erasure by explicitly including the “B” in LGBTQ+ narratives

● Support policies and health initiatives that address bi+ mental health and aging issues

● Foster connection by encouraging intergenerational dialogue and mentorship

Bisexuality is vibrant, real, and integral—today and every day. Let’s stand in solidarity across generations. 🌈
