From September 16–23, communities across the globe observe Bisexual+ Awareness Week—a time to acknowledge the history, resilience, and visibility of the bisexual and bi+ community. Organized by GLAAD, the Bisexual Resource Center, and Still Bisexual, this week culminates in Celebrate Bisexuality+ Day on September 23 Los Angeles LGBT Center+11GLAAD+11lgbtq.wa.gov+11.
Despite being the largest identity group within the LGBTQ+ population, bisexual+ people continue to face unique challenges—ranging from invisibility and erasure to mental health disparities rooted in both external stigma and dismissal within queer spaces GLAAD.
In recent months, as public debate around LGBTQ+ rights intensifies, this year’s BiWeek carries an even more urgent message: visibility matters. When bisexual+ stories are seen, heard, and celebrated, they push back against erasure and affirm the validity of complex identities.
At LGBT Senior Housing and Care, we honor the rich identities of our residents—many of whom identify as bisexual or bi+. By nurturing affirming, intergenerational communities where every identity is welcomed, we bridge gaps in acceptance and expand visibility across generations.
This #BiWeek, join us to:
● Highlight bi+ elders and celebrate their lived experiences
● Share stories that counter stereotypes and myths about bisexuality
● Support inclusive policies and healthcare that address the specific needs of bisexual+ older adults
Together, we amplify the bi+ community—not just for a week, but every day. 🌈
