The  LGBT Senior Housing and Care Foundation provides seed grants to providers who wish to educate their staff to render the best care possible to LGBTQIAAP+ older adults.

Due to the historic marginalization of this group, LGBTQIAAP+ older adults have greater health and mental health disparities that the general senior population. Fear of bias and discrimination, harassment and violence are very real and make people wary of seeking needed healthcare, services, and advocacy.

Professional development training for providers of services to the LGBTQIAAP+ senior population, across the aging continuum, is crucial to creating welcoming and empowering spaces. While larger providers have resources to more easily pay for and provide this training, smaller and non-profit providers may struggle to prioritize this important education. In this way, the LGBT Senior Housing and Care Foundation's support can help transform some of these providers who wish to learn more about the LGBTQIAAP+ older adult community into thoroughly trained and empowered providers ready to implement a more welcoming service model.

Donate to LGBT Senior Housing and Care Foundation to support training, advocacy, and education of health care, housing and service professionals in the special needs of the LGBTQ+ adult community.
